Dear Sarah, baby Ava, family, and friends:

Welcome to the surprise blog (Sarah doesn't know about this yet as it, combined with the video recorder that will make all the wonderful little clips you will see on Ava's life, is her "push gift".)

For those of you who are unfamiliar with a "push gift," according to wikipedia, it is "a present a new father gives a new mother when she gives birth to their child. In practice the present may be given before or after the birth, or even in the delivery room."  According to me, a "push gift" is "She has to go through the struggle of having a child growing inside of her for nearly a year and then the challenge of delivery so I better do something thoughtful to show my appreciation and awareness of how difficult women have it."

This gift is actually a gift for all of us to be able to watch Ava Jordyn Brown grow from a dream of two people in love into a beautiful, amazing woman.  (No pressure!)

Sarah, thank you for giving me the best gift a man could ever receive.  I vow before all family and friends to do my best to both provide a healthy and happy home for Ava and our future children as well as to be a present father.

Ava, I can't wait to meet you.  It is amazing for me to think that the bond between your mother and I could create you.  I've always seen myself as eventually being a Dad, but far off into the future.  I  still don't see myself as being old enough to be a Dad.  When I was growing up, I always looked at adults as dinosaurs who were so old they knew all the answers to every question because they were there!  But now that you are almost here, I know as an adult I don't know all the answers.  What I do know is that I will do everything in my power not to let you down and to give you the best life possible.

I look forward to the day when you, Ava Jordyn, can take over this blog and tell your family and friends who live so far away about your journey through life.  One of my biggest regrets is not keeping a record of the amazing journey I have experienced.  I hope you are able to see and experience everything that you ever want in life.  More importantly, I hope you learn that life is not so much about what you own, but more about wealth in the form of a healthy family and true friends who you treat well and treat you like family.  It is about discovering your passions, embracing the good times and persevering through the bad, and living a life of character and substance.  Waking up and looking in the mirror with pride and admiration for the person that you see looking back at you.  That, my daughter, is real wealth and true success in the game of life.

Sarah, I may not always show you or tell you that you are the best thing to ever happen to me, but I hope this gift is a symbol of how much you mean to me.  I won the perfect wife lottery with you.  Thank you for everything.

Family and friends, this goes for you as well.  While I may spend most of my time entrenched in the battles of entrepreneurship, know that I love and appreciate each and every one of you.

I hope you all enjoy this blog and I am sure that with Sarah's fantastic sense of humor this blog will be a ton of fun!  Personally, I can't wait!

Love,

Kyle
